Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts

The demand for Northwest Coast Jewellery has never been greater. Aboriginal artisans will grow with the tourism industry in BC and special initiatives such as an artisan village and museum of contemporary Aboriginal art. Get your training now to improve your form-line art and silver carving skills or to learn about studio management. Current jewellery artisans are encouraged to apply. The NEC Native Education College and ACCESS are offering a Certificate program in Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts in 2007-08. Start date is to be determined. The program will run full-time for 24 weeks. Please apply now to be on the wait-list. Tuition and supplies will be covered for eligible applicants. Courses are Form-line Drawing, Metalwork Technique, Jewellery Design Studio, Studio Management. Each student will complete a drawing portfolio, and a ring, earrings and 3 pendants.

  • Minimum Grade 10 Diploma or equivalent
  • Art portfolio of at least 3 pieces including form-line drawing.
