Program Description

In this 7-month Diploma program, learners prepare for a rewarding career to work with infants and toddlers by learning the basic knowledge and skills about their behaviors, cognitive development, and emotional needs. Further studes include learning how to incorporate the Indigenous perspective while planning and delivering programs in an infant and toddler childcare centre. After completing this program, graduates can work in a childcare centre centre as an Infant and Toddler Educator.

The first step after graduation is applying to the Early Childhood Educator Registry for the Infant and Toddler certficate to practice in British Columbia. This provides you the opportunity to earn higher wages and work alongside a Certfied Infant and Toddler Childhood Educator.

Combined Diploma Option

Both the Aboriginal Infant and Toddler and Aboriginal Special Needs Diploma programs can be taken at the same time for a cost-savings.

University Transfer

The credits earned in the Aboriginal Infant and Toddler Diploma program is transferrable to Capilano University or NITEP at the University of British Columbia.

  • CRC Clearance
  • TB Test Results (Negative)
