Program Description
Building on the foundational skills and knowledge gained from completing a Health Care Assistant Program, students can take this advanced training in acute care to work in a hospital setting. In this part-time program, students broaden their skill-set in monitoring the health status of acute care patients, becoming aware of any changes from treatments and interventions, and increased confidence with using equipment commonly used for acute care patients.
After completing this program, students will have further developed their ability to deal with immediate response situations by applying their skills and knowledge in a practicum placement in an Acute Care unit with a Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
