Program Description

This one-of-a-kind program provides students with practical skills in the fine art of Northwest Coast carved silver jewellery. Students learn about formline drawing, Northwest Coast Art, and metal work techniques all to design sterling silver jewellery. After completing the certificate program, credits are transferrable to the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Career Path

Graduates from this program have pursued their entrepreneurial spirit and become self-employed as artists, working in print-making as well as silver jewellery carving. Other graduates have continued their studies in the fine arts such as film studies.

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • Art portfolio including 5 formline drawings. The portfolio must be prepared in advance of the interview
