The Native Education College works with First Nations and Aboriginal community agencies to deliver accredited post-secondary and adult basic education programs in locations throughout British Columbia.  The Educational Outreach department combines academic excellence with a strong commitment to First Nations community-based education.  Curriculum has been designed, developed & delivered with a focus upon our First Nations perspectives.  We also partner with local public colleges to ensure educational excellence in the delivery of programs.

Educational Outreach Program Delivery & Partnerships

Many Aboriginal communities and organizations have facilities and staff who can offer post-secondary training.  The Native Education College establishes partnerships with communities which allow them to use our curriculum resources to provide programs of study accredited with the Private Careers Training Institute Agency (PCTIA) and articulated with many colleges and universities in BC.

In collaboration with First Nation communities and organizations, the Native Education College’s Education Outreach department endeavours to provide:

  • Aboriginal Faculty
  • Professional development workshops for Aboriginal organizations
  • Curriculum development projects or Customized training
  • Cultural sensitivity training for non-Aboriginal organizations
  • Increased access to advanced education in community settings

Any of the courses and programs offered at the Native Education College can be delivered on site in your community or offered in partnership with the Aboriginal communities’ learning or training centres.  If your community or agency plans to implement a training or educational program, workshop or development project, please contact the Associate Dean of Educational Outreach for information relating to budgets, service agreements, implementation phases or other services.
