FirstHost
FirstHost is a one-day tourism workshop that is delivered throughout BC. Participants learn about the hospitality business and the special importance of the host, guest and place relationship.
Main Content
Learn how you can incorporate your cultural values into your tourism business! The FirstHost certificate is recognized by tourism industry employers for entry-level positions. FirstHost aims to develop excellence in customer service skills & looks at “the big picture” of the tourism industry. Participants explore & increase their knowledge of Aboriginal tourism products and services, including cultural tourism the role of the host and the concept of flawless service role of the guest and gives a list of guest ethics, customer service values, skills & tips for dealing with guests/visitors & their concerns First Nations role in the tourism industry, FirstHost resources and cultural tourism.
The duration of the FirstHost workshop is eight hours. The Circle Member Workbook supplied is used during training and for future reference. In recognition of their accomplishments, participants receive a FirstHost pin and certificate upon completion.
