Applicants may be assessed on their English. The assessment results will determine their English level and assist the applicant in selecting the appropriate course/s that best suits their needs. 

Applicants for the Adult Basic Education, Applied Business Technology and Aboriginal Tourism Management programs may be required to do a math assessment to assess their math level. The assessment results will determine their Math level and assist the applicant in selecting the appropriate course/s that best suits their needs.

Aboriginal Adult Basic Education applicants are (if possible) requested to produce transcripts of their last grade attended. These documents and the results of NEC placement assessments will determine course selection.

 

An applicant with previous educational, employment or community service experience may be given credit for specific courses by completing a prior learning assessment process. The Coordinator will assist the applicant in this process which may include a challenge for credit by writing the major exam and accepting the mark, and/or developing a portfolio that demonstrates competence in course outcomes. To receive the credit on their transcript, applicants must pay the regular course fee.
