The NEC's longhouse was building in 1985 with the design concept based on West Coast philosophy that encompasses traditional values. The totem pole was carved by the well-known Northwest Coast Carver, Norman Tait. Community member gathered to at the pole raising ceremony, which signifies the house of learning for Indigenous learners in Metro Vancouver.

- Groups of 15 must have one chaperone

Longhouse Rentals
For a reasonable rate, our facility is available for rent to host your upcoming community event or workshop. Any individual or organization can rent our facility. Please note: Alcohol and drugs are not permitted on the property.
- All rentals are for a minimum of 3 hours
- An additional charge is applied for renting after regular business hours 8:30am to 4:30pm
- Discounted rates are offered for long-term rentals
- Other terms and conditions may apply
Starting September 20, 2018, classroom rentals will be FREE on Thursday evenings between 5pm - 8pm for Indigenous cultural groups only. It is first come, first serve so make sure to get in your rental form. For more information contact Ron Wallace: (604) 873-3772 Ext. 338
